Interplanetary Shock (or CME Arrival)
Catalog: M2M_CATALOG
Location: Earth
Event Time: 2026-05-07T15:16Z ( ACE: MAG )
All Detecting Spacecrafts:
ACE: MAG
ACE: SWEPAM
Activity ID: 2026-05-07T15:16:00-IPS-001 (version 1)
Quality of ICME Signature: 2 (clear signatures)
Note: Characterized by an initial jump in B_total from 4.8nT to 9.4nT, rising over 10nT shortly after with B_z mostly neutral so far, turning northward at this entry. Speed increase from ~330 km/s to ~370 km/s, with a spike in temperature and density. The potential best candidate is the start of a CIR from a coronal hole high speed stream expected to become geoeffective on 2026-05-07, from a small, dark equatorial coronal hole which crossed the central meridian on 2026-05-04.
